We are looking for undergrads, PhD students, and post-docs who possess dependable quantitative skills and are curious about how neural networks in the brain learn and process information. Research directions of interest include:
- Principles of information processing in (spiking) neural networks
- Learning rules and circuits for sensory learning through latent space prediction
- Interneuron diversity and circuits and their role for deep credit assignment
- Neuromorphic algorithms for continual online learning and self-healing
We offer a creative atmosphere in a fun international team embedded within the bustling research environment of the Friedrich Miescher Institute, which provides unique opportunities for in-house collaborations with several top-notch circuit neuroscience groups. You find us in Switzerland, which boasts a high concentration of exciting research at the interface of neuroscience and AI and offers other perks such as stunning backdrops with mountains.
